Ensemble CRUSH is a contemporary music ensemble that was created in 2013. The group does not only play music of different types of instrumentation from the 20th and 21st century but as a special quality they look for close contact to present-day composers to obtain new pieces of music for their unique ensemble (flute, clarinet, violin, cello, accordion and piano).

The members of the group come from five different countries and the Ruhrgebiet has become their collective musical home. For them, playing music together means to act in a communicative as well as uncompromising way – being well aware of one’s own personal musical background as well as of the other members. They strive to redefine limits and to find and establish new possibilities of sound and expression.
Their speciality is an unconventional presentation of the program using electronic devices and this supported by the ensemble’s innate composer Lukas Tobiassen.
